2008-2009 (Chicago/New York) As of the end of March 2009.....has played in over 50 games and in the starting rotation in New York, playing in the worlds most famous arena, Madison Square Garden.......after being traded from Chicago after only four games placed in the starting rotation and averaging over 30 plus minutes per game since February 19th......FG% has increased to 41% and nearly 40% from the three-point range with averages of 12.5 points per game. Leads the team with steals of 1.8 per game and a has maintained a free throw percentage at 80%.

2007-08 (Cleveland/CHICAGO): Played in a total of 68 games in 10th NBA season, including 40 with Cleveland and 28 with Chicago … held season averages of 12.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 2.7 apg and 1.46 spg in 29.7 mpg … shot .381 from the floor, including .345 from threepoint range, and .798 from the free throw line … ranked 16th in the NBA in steals per turnover (0.85) … nine games of 20+ points … registered season hi hs in points (40), free throws made (12) and free throws attempted (13) at ORL (02/11/08) … returned to Cleveland (04/03) and posted season highs of 45 minutes and nine assists to go along with 25 points and eight rebounds … spent 14 games on the Inactive List – three games with a left leg contusion (11/06-11/09) and 11 games with a deep bone bruise (11/16-12/05).

College: Played one season for St. Louis, leading the Billikens and Conference USA in scoring with 20.9 ppg … scored 20 or more points in 15 of his 32 games, including scoring 40 points against Marquette and setting a Conference USA Tournament record with 37 points against UAB … set the school’s single-season scoring record with 670 points … named Conference USA’s Freshman of the Year and was a First Team All-Conference Selection … also named Honorable Mention All-America by the Associated Press and Second-Team All-America by Basketball Times … named National Freshman of the Year by the United States Basketball Writers Association, The Sporting News, Basketball Times and Basketball Weekly.

Personal: Full name is Larry Darnell Hughes … nickname is “Smooth” ....promotes organ donation through speaking engagements and appearances after a heart transplant prolonged his younger brother’s (Justin) life when he was 11 years old … along with his mother, Vanessa, established “The Larry Hughes Foundation”, which is dedicated to educating the public about organ donation … hosted the Larry Hughes Basketball Camp and the Larry Hughes Family Foundation Casino Night in St. Louis over the summer of 2008 … he was the inaugural winner of the “Austin Carr Good Guy Award” in 2006 which is designed to recognize the Cavaliers player who is cooperative and understanding of the media, the community and the public … lists Nelly – who he grew up with in St. Louis – and Jay-Z as his favorite musical artists.
